Only days left for Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 premiere! We had the pleasure of sitting down with Paulina Chávez to talk about diversity, what to expect from Flora in season 2, and the unexpected attraction between her and Riven, as well as her relationship with Terra and the rest of the Winx. Ready?
Here we go!
Flora and Terra Will be Different in ‘Fate: The Winx Saga’ Season 2

Flora first joins Fate: The Winx Saga in season 2, to the delight of fans who have missed the character since the show’s first season. But with the dynamics of the Winx already formed, where does Flora fit in? Paulina Chávez has the answer and I think you will like it. She gets there for Terra but stays for something else.
Speaking of Terra, she and Flora have powers that can be very similar, so we asked Paulina Chávez what is the difference between the two of them both in terms of character and powers that we will see in Fate: The Winx Saga season 2. And I think this will calm some of your fears because Terra and Flora will have some similarities but, as Paulina clarifies, the differences between them will also be seen.
Flora and Riven or Rivusa?

And now we come to the controversial question. Yes, Riven and Flora AKA the elephant in the room. Twitter was on fire for this bit of our interview with different opinions about what Paulina Chávez told us about Fate: The Winx Saga season 2. I think you all heard Paulina’s words but, analyzing them together, she talks about something that makes sense. I mean, Riven is…well, a man who likes women a lot. And that doesn’t have to always mean something deeper. It can be, but not always.
Will there be something more than attraction between Riven and Flora? Rivusa won’t be a thing in Fate: The Winx Saga season 2? You will have to wait until Friday to know the answer. For our part, we can only tell you that a long-term relationship — as Rivusa is in cartoons — is not based only on physical attraction but on a more… emotional thing, especially on TV.
Representation Matters

Fate: The Winx saga season 1 made a lot of mistakes when it came to diversity and representation. Fans and critics alike were heavily critical of it — as we should be — so once Alfea’s doors reopen, we asked Paulina Chávez what she would say to those fans who watch the show warily because they are legitimately concerned about the treatment of representation and diversity in season 2.
And I think Paulina speaks to us from the heart. For her, diversity and representation are really important and, being aware of the mistakes in Fate: The Winx Saga season 1, she has a message for all of you. This part of our interview is really worth repeating on a loop.
As we mentioned, for Paulina Chávez, diversity and representation are very important. She’s an activist in the Latinx community and fights to make the world of entertainment more diverse. We asked her about some of her initiatives and her goals for the future. We can only say that we should all listen more to Paulina Chávez, her ideas, and her way of seeing the world.
