We´re here one more day! Chicago Party Aunt 1×06 “Twenty-Six Point Tattoo” shows us that outbursts are never the best advisers and that no one is alone, even if we feel that way. Time for review!
Here we go!
In Chicago Party Aunt 1×06 “Twenty-Six Point Tattoo” everyone has a goal and nothing turns out as expected, but as needed. Diane has been pissed off that Kurt had removed her name from the tattoo they got together because it’s like erasing her and the history they had together so on impulse, she was determined to remove his name to show Kurt and to herself that she had already turned the page.
But the truth is that she has not done it and doesn´t want to. To turn the page, to remove that tattoo is to erase a part of her past, of her history and that past is who has forged the woman she is today. She´s proud of who she is and the journey she goes through to get to where she is now. Maybe in a moment of momentary rage and anger she wanted to remove Kurt’s tattoo from her body but deep down, she never wanted to do it just… she couldn’t accept it to herself because the fact that Kurt had done it still stung and it churned her insides. That offense demanded that she respond in kind.
Although, unconsciously, she did everything to not reach the goal and it´s Daniel who realizes all this. His aunt needs him. She may not say it and, therefore, her actions may seem selfish, we mean, she drags him into all this without taking into account how important that day was to him – and, in a way, her actions are selfish – but the truth is that she needs him to listen to her, understand her, and make her feel like she’s not a fool for wanting to keep that tattoo. So Daniel does just that.
Playing devil’s advocate here, we fully understand Daniel’s anger in Chicago Party Aunt 1×06 “Twenty-Six Point Tattoo.” For him, this day was important. He dropped out of college to take this sabbatical and find himself but nothing is as he hoped or going the way he thought, so this, this job and that juice and marathon madness, is the only thing he feels he has that is really his, the only thing that he feels like it was really won.
Having his aunt drag him into this race against time without her taking into account his feelings is the last thing he needs. Fortunately, if Diane has anything, it is resources so she manages to get Daniel right where he needed to be.
On the other hand, Bonnie learned a lesson in Chicago Party Aunt 1×06 “Twenty-Six Point Tattoo.” Her husband never finished the marathon but this year he was determined to do it and what was least expected, what hurt the most, is that she did not believe or trust him. That she left him alone.
Although he never was, Bonnie realized her mistake and showed him how much she supports him, she taught him that, just like the character in the audiobook, as lonely as he seemed to be, he never was.
