Oh no, it’s the worst night of a students year – parent/teacher conferences and with the students of Constance, they don’t have to worry. It means that the teachers are up for review and that is never fun. Parents with deep pockets are ready to protect their kids at all costs.
Ms. Keller thinks that she’s got this all under control, because Gossip Girl has put them in a position of power and she feels confident. But Gossip Girl hasn’t posted in a few days. Kate says she hasn’t had a chance to verify anything and she’s waiting for the perfect thing.
After all, Gossip Girl knows what they world needs and when they need it.
It’s a night where you get to see the parents of students and interact with the elite. Julien’s Dad is a legacy and when he shows up, the headmistress is right there to kiss his ass. The teachers are there to stand in awe of him.
There’s too many people there and the teachers are put on notice that night.
THE KIDS ARE OUT
Don’t know about you, but my parents never let me out on school nights. But the kids of the Upper East Side are playing in Dumbo. Now, I love Dumbo and being there, but I want to know what kind of tolerance all of these kids have. Cause they are out – all the time.
Julien doesn’t know what she’s going to do, because people are noticing that Obie isn’t around. She thinks that the world will go back to normal and her friends are like I can cover for a few days with hashtags, but she has two days to get him back.
Julien thinks that she will be able to apologize to that night and all will be well. But the question is when is Obie getting there.
He’s not. And so she decides to text him, because she misses him. But Obie isn’t into this, and he lies and tells her that he’s going to bed and maybe they can talk the next day.
We all can just agree now that Zobie (I am just gonna use their ship name, cause they are my favorite) is so much better together than Jobie. I get it – the sisters aspect. Look, Obie is my favorite and his smile is just fucking adorable, so I want him to be happy. Only he is really skating on thin ice and he doesn’t even see it.
But I am really gonna go down with this ship, I am Team Zobie all the way.
When you’re a member of the Upper East Side Elite, you are probably thinking that the Upper West Side is safe. Believe it or not the different parts of New York City feel like their own little world. But I cheered as Obie showed up at Zoya’s apartment.
She is grounded and walked outside to see him. He is so adorable and smiling and I am legit on my knees begging for these two to happen.
She thought he was joking when he said that he was outside. He is coy as fuck when he say he went for a walk and this is where he stopped walking. She grabs his hand and pulls him out of sight of doorman. She tells him he has a really good smile and he says he doesn’t do that very often. When she says that he takes up his face, I laughed, but I got that it was an adorable thing. He asks her to show him and she imitates.
He says that he hasn’t seen her at school. She’s trying to keep a low profile. You can tell that he doesn’t want her to do that, he wants her to be around.
She tells him that he needs to go and she should go inside, because there are spies everywhere. Yes, Obie even on the Upper West Side, my friend. You didn’t notice the stranger that just took a picture of you.
Gossip Girl knew that if she waited, she would get what she needed.
ZOBIE
Again, I will stress the fact that Zobie is the superior ship.
The gang is in Dumbo and honestly, love you Aki, but I really need Audrey and Max to get together. Aubrey coming down the stairs, him walking up, says he’s bored. It’s flirting. I don’t care what anyone says.
She says only boring ppl are bored, he’s uninspired. He asks her to inspire him them. Max is flirting with her she says that he doesn’t fantasize he samples everything. Aki comes down and he asks about him and Aki says never in a million years.
We know that line. That means within the week.
A hot teacher shows up and Max walks off on the hunt for dick.
Now, here’s what I don’t get – why Aki is defending Audrey’s Mom in the next breathe. Cause like your girlfriend is so pissed, and hurt and you wanna tell her to have sympathy? Please boy. I would put on a chastity belt and not let you near my vag ever again.
And Audrey’s way of dealing with it is walking off and over to her friends. She talks to Julien about the situation and I am shocked that Julien gives solid advice, telling her that she’s upset because she’s worth showing up for.
Luna and Monet are trying to get Julien to take Zoya down, but she won’t do it. She wants to believe in her sister and right her wrongs. But then Gossip Girl posts that picture of Zobie and her heart sinks.
Luckily she has a pic that can make it look like Obie is with her, effectively cancelling Gossip Girl. These girls are snakes.
THE SCHOLARSHIP SCANDAL
Zoya is at home during parent/teacher conference, and her Dad has let her know that she needs to stay there. Now, not sure why it is that she’s in trouble for something her sister did, but she can’t attack that sister, because her sisters Daddy’s deep pockets will keep her in place.
I feel bad for Zoya, because her Dad is so disappointed and the headmistress wants to speak to him personally. If they pull the scholarship, what will they do. Zoya feels horrible and that Dad guilt is the worst.
Zoya really wanted a relationship with her sister and that meant the world to her. Seeing her going on like nothing is wrong is painful and she feels a little lost.
At conferences, Kate tells Zoya’s Dad that she’s doing well and that she likes having Zoya in class. She’s the only person that is happy to be there. Her phone won’t stop going off and she checks it and effectively sees that Gossip Girl has been cancelled.
Julien’s army of followers have made sure to call Gossip Girl out. Julien’s friends want to take down her sister.
Zoya asks Dad how it was the next day. She wants to know that everything is okay, and doesn’t want her Dad disappointed in her. It’s a hard space for her and when her Dad is so blunt and disappointed, and tells her that she can’t mess up. The school board doesn’t want a scandal right now, but they are looking for any reason to take away her scholarship.
Zoya promises to be perfect, but can you really be perfect with Gossip Girl around?
MAX STALKS HIS PREY
Max is such a sexual being and I kinda love how blunt he is about everything. He has decided that he’s going to get into his teachers pants, no matter what it takes.
His teacher – not having it so much. He’s making it clear that he doesn’t fuck his students. But the thing about Max is that he’s going to go for what he wants and when he wants it. Long term game is on.
There is something about Max that draws you in, makes you want to root for him. Sure, he’s a cocky shit, but aren’t all the best men?
Max stalks his Instagram page to see where he is and realizes that he’s at a bath house and so he talks Aki to going with him. Guys – I am so down for an Aki/Max/Audrey love triangle. I like Max with either of them.
And Aki may be more into it than he realizes. Because when he kisses Max to make the teacher jealous, he gets hard (at least that’s what they allude to). I clapped like a child at Christmas and I have no shame.
NO MORE I’M SORRY
Julien posting the picture and calling Gossip Girl a liar has resulted in Kate not sleeping because she was up all night dealing with the trolls. She thinks that everything is over, the posts have been flagged. She doesn’t want to loose control.
However she’s in the middle of teenage angst and shits going to happen and tell Gossip Girl what she needed.
Julien is used to having things her way. And she thinks that she can apologize and her and Obie will be okay. But this time, it’s not going to be that way. It doesn’t matter that she has gotten the message, it doesn’t matter that she thinks that things will go back to normal. Obie is done, it’s been done for a long time. They just have to accept it.
What I have a little bit of trouble with is that he walks right out after that to Zoya. I mean give a girl a second and don’t go automatically flirt with her sister. That being said, give me all of the Zobie moments. The way he smiles with her. The way he looks at her like he’s alive for the first time in a long time. I am here for it all.
She says that the two of them are a greek tragedy and they can’t happen. She doesn’t want to do something to him Julien, but he tells her that there is no more him and Julien. He wants to spend his time with her. He wants to be around her. And so she tells him that if he can figure out a way for them to go on a date without anyone knowing they are on a date…
Challenge accepted.
The whole time, Julien is looking and she feels betrayed AF. Her friends tell her that she has to take Zoya down, but Julien doesn’t want to do that. She also doesn’t want to hurt Obie. So what if she can make Obie not want to be with her? She needs to uncancel Gossip Girl for that. She wants the juiciest gossip on Little Z.
I don’t understand how Julien thinks that Obie will respond positively to all the drama and her trying to hurt her sister. I don’t think that he would – no matter what it is. But Gossip Girl isn’t about that, she knows that she has to give Julien what she needs.
For the first time I see some remorse in Kate, because she likes Zoya. She wants to be good to her cause she’s the ideal student. She doesn’t want to take Zoya down, but the reality is that if you don’t give Julien what she wants, Gossip Girl is done.
And talk about timing cause at that moment, Zoya walks in to report for duty to help set up the fundraiser. This is the perfect chance for Kate to get the dirt, but it makes me feel gross watching it. Zoya thinks she has someone that she can trust in front of her, but what she has is another person to betray her.
She lets it slip that she got kicked out of her old school. Kate heads to the office, to get more info from Wendy. And though we don’t know what she did, we know that Gossip Girl got the dirt and handed it over to Julien.
My heart breaks a little for Kate, Julien, and Zoya. All this shit never needed to happen. But it’s a brand new world and shit is happening quicker than we can deal with it. I get the reasoning behind the drama, but I really don’t want this drama between sisters. They fought so hard to be together.
But there is nothing worse than a woman scorn and her heart hurting.
A FUNDRAISER AND A DATE
Audrey wants nothing more than for her Mom to show up for her. I think it’s what we all want out of life – the people that we love to be there for us. Yet, Audrey has got to see that her Mom is going through something big.
Yes, she didn’t make it to the conferences and she doesn’t want to attend the fundraiser that night. She doesn’t want to run into her ex – who by the way left her for her assistant. Ya, I wouldn’t wanna go either. But you can tell past the pain in her face that she wants to be there for her daughter.
But Audrey can’t see past her own wants and that’s okay because she’s a kid.
The fundraiser is a big thing. I think it’s an excuse to wear a fabulous dress. But for the kids of the Upper East Side, it’s going to be a place where Gossip Girl is watching.
Zoya hadn’t planned on going to the event. The tickets were expensive. However, she gets an envelope with the tickets and so her and her Dad go. She needs to be on her best behavior.
Zoya making her lap around when Obie walks up on her. These two have such great chemistry, it’s adorable. Obie got these tickets for her so that they could have their non date, date.
Here’s the thing about Zoya and Obie – they have shared interests and that’s so great to see. Julien used him for the gram and Zoya and him understand and connect on another level.
Meanwhile, Audrey is looking for her Mom, who shows up drunk. Kate is flirting with Zoya’s Dad for information. It’s a normal crazy school event.
Until Julien realizes that Zoya is there and she knows it means that her Dad will find out what she’s done. She is scared and as much as I would like to say that I don’t get her fear, I do. She doesn’t want to hurt her Dad, but again Julien, truth works.
Had she told her Dad he could have been prepared to walk up on his enemy. He could have been prepared to know what Julien wanted. She tries to explain and tell him she asked him but he was getting sober. And he says the dreaded Dad words, “i’m disappointed in you.”
FML, shit ain’t going well, especially when Audrey’s Mom gets drunk and injured and she’s gotta leave to get her home. Aki is there, helping her, but he’s too damn Switzerland for me. And that bothers Audrey too. She needs someone to have her back.
I like Aki, but this ain’t Twilight and being Switzerland ain’t an option.
THE GREAT ESCAPE
Obie can feel energy, I believe. He can tell that Zoya needs to get out and he asks her to leave for an hour. Zoya comes just as alive as Obie does. These two… my Zobie loving heart.
But never fear, when something good happens, Gossip Girl is there to ruin the day.
She has gone nuclear. Both Julien and Gossip Girl in their own ways. Julien is pissed at her sister and is like fuck it, she has to go. And things only get worse when Gossip Girl posts a picture of Zobie in the wild.
Monet and Luna are loving the idea of Zoya being taken down and Gossip Girl has given Julien the address of where they are. She’s ready to take them down, but what she doesn’t see when she tells her Dad that he needs to get Zoya’s Dad and meet them at an address. They can see that Zoya isn’t who she says she is.
But what she doesn’t think about is that they could be doing good. Because that’s what Obie does. Good things. He’s gotten a man to open up a store so that they can buy supplies for schools. The magnetism between these two is just enough to put a smile on your face.
When Julien shows up, she sees them so happy and she realizes that Obie is happy. She gets it and knows she’s made a mistake. When the Dads show up, she tries to cover, but Zoya comes outside and asks her Dad what he’s doing there.
I love the way that Gossip Girl has these kids snapping back at their parents for the shit that they say and do. It’s not something I would do, but calling out your parents is a necessity sometimes.
When Nick says not to blame your sister, and they respond to their Dads about how they’ve never been sisters, because they never wanted them to be, I felt that.
It’s not going to be an easy road for these two. Julien has gone and crossed a line. She’s made things difficult for all of them. It’s so difficult that Zoya wants to withdraw from Constance.
Davis had just told Julien that she needed to keep the connection with her sister and they never should have been kept apart. She takes that speech and goes to talk to her sister. She wants them to get along. She doesn’t want to give up on her sister. She wants them to be friends. And she wants her to stay.
But in order for Zoya to stay, she basically says that she needs to be herself and true to herself. and that is Obie.
While you can see the pain in Julien’s eyes, she willing to say she won’t get in the way. Love and jealousy, as well as familiarity had made her loose her mind. And well she took a second and put others first, just when I thought she couldn’t be redeemed.
I was wrong.
