There are shows that you look forward to. I love shows like National Treasure: Edge of History that make you feel like you’re going to get something exciting every time you turn it on. You’re looking for something in every episode – any clues to the next episode, the characters, the what you may be missing.
Instantly what I love about National Treasure: Edge of History is the evolution – the way that its adapted to the times. In this show, you’re always left on the edge of your seat. You’re left wondering who you can trust, who will betray, and who will figure out things.
We know that we have a mole in the group, but who is it? Well, Tasha is convinced that it’s Liam and there is a part of me that is too. After all the rest of the group – Oren, Ethan, and Tasha have been there for Jess. I don’t think any of them could be bought off.
It just feels like Liam would be the obvious choice.

But what we’ve all learned with shows is the obvious isn’t always obvious and in reality when you think you know something, you probably don’t. You have no idea what is coming, even when you think you do.
This episode opens with Billie and her team on the plane, trying to figure out the clue. Dario, her tech person, thinks that his algorithm can figure it out. But Billie quickly reminds him that it’s not that easy, and like Jess originally thought – she thinks it’s Malinche.
Here’s the thing that I am truly wondering about… how the fuck do Jess and Tasha just have a bug sweeper readily available? I mean, I rarely even can find a can opener in my house. I feel like that’s a stretch, especially when they can barely pay their rent.
But yes, I know it’s television.
Tasha is convinced that the mole is Liam, but here’s what I am asking them both. Did they forget that Billie has been after them all? It kills me that everyone is quick to blame Liam, because I feel like they need proof. And they have none. But Jess lets the fear of it being Liam get to her and starts to ghost him, even though it hurts her. She doesn’t want to believe the worst in Liam. She likes him… a lot.

As we know, in the last episode they solved the clue and need to go to the governors mansion to see a journal from Meriwether Lewis’s journal dedicated to his Newfoundland dog, Seaman. I think I should have paid more attention in history class and learned more about Lewis & Clark – cause I remembered nothing about a dog.
Anyhow, Liam asks Jess to join him to go to the governor’s mansion, but she ghosts him, going with Ethan instead. Now, I want to like Ethan. I do. I just don’t. It’s obvious how he feels about Jess, but didn’t act on it. And that’s fine. It’s whatever. But he needs to let her go, because it’s at a point where it’s affect a lot of people.
And she’s moved forward. It’s not right for him to play with her or anyone else’s emotions.
Back to the journal. The journal would be on display that night at the governors ball. It’s a $500 a plate event, way about Tasha and Jess’s budget. Tasha is keeping tabs on all things Liam and I am impressed and also scared she was able to look into his bank account and see that 50K was deposited. Girl has some serious hacking skills.
The worst part of this whole story – that makes them jump to think that Liam was being paid off by Billie and treat him like nothing. Only it wasn’t Liam – the mole was Oren’s show. The shoes that he got from Billie, the shoes that got his ass kidnapped, were bugged.

What really gets to me is that when Jess goes to apologize to Liam, he forgives her very easily. Yes, I know that shouldn’t be a big deal, but it is. Because who forgives someone that accused you of something negative way easily – so easily. It makes me think that he is up to something and then I am like – was I wrong? Is Liam up to something? Is he on Billie’s side?
I really do like Liam. I don’t want to believe that he would betray his grandfather like this. Yet, when it comes to money, who knows what a person is capable of? I can’t believe that I am sitting here and wondering if I am right or if I am wrong. What should I be seeing or thinking? What are we missing? What do I need to see?
The entire group ends up going to the Governor’s ball, ready to figure out what is in that journal. But when a Lady Gaga song came on, one that Ethan and Jess had a routine all choreographed to. The two look as though they are in love dancing and the truth is, I do believe that they are. I just don’t think that the two of them are ready to see it.
Liam does though.
Ethan’s girlfriend does though.
Ethan follows his girlfriend, Meena, outside. Meena looks destroyed, heartbroken, and alone. She tells Ethan that it looks as though he wants to be with Jess and he needs to figure that out. Ethan looks as though he wants to protest, but he doesn’t too much.
Jess is off to try to get to the journal to take a look, and she catches Liam stealing it and running off. The security guard catches her and she had to make a run for it, to get away because they thought she stole it. There was no part of seeing her run that didn’t make me so mad at Liam I wanted to become a character in this show and punch his in his face.
Now, as Jess is taking off, the person that shocked me saving her – Billie. But Billie has an ulterior motive. You see in one of Oren’s videos, Jess is there. In the video she’s wearing the Daughters of the Plumed Serpent medallion, and Billie knows that Rafael Rios had one of the last pendants.
She knows that if Jess is Rafael’s daughter, who has been presumed dead, this changes everything. We have yet to see what that all means, but we’re anxious to see how it pans out.

OTHER THOUGHTS
- Tasha causing a diversion is amazing
- Meena – I don’t trust her either. There is something going on there.
- Tasha and Jess still having their prom dresses and fitting in them? Impressive. I don’t even think I fit into mine the day after.
- Don’t ever dance with an ex.
- Oren pitching his shoe designs. Commend his ingenuity.
