To begin with, The CW has ordered, surprise surprise, Black Lightning, another Greg Berlanti DC superhero show to series. The show, which will star Cress Williams (Hart of Dixie) in the title role, revolves around retired superhero Jefferson Pierce, who finds himself back the vigilante game because of his daughter and the threat of a student being recruited by a local gang.
The series also stars Nefessa Williams (Code Black), China Anne McClain (Descendants 2), and Christine Adams (Terra Nova).
Then we have Life Sentence, which stars Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars), as a woman who, once diagnosed with terminal cancer now learns she’s not actually dying, forcing her to actually live with the choices she made when she decided to “live like she was dying.”
The cast also includes Elliot Knight (Once Upon a Time), Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck) Gillian Vigman (The Hangover), Jayson Blair (Whiplash), Brooke Lyons (The Affair) and Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush).
In addition to these two the CW has also ordered the military drama Valor, staring Matt Barr (Sleepy Hollow) and Christina Ochoa (Animal Kingdom) as a pair of elite helicopter pilots who uncover a secret about a botched mission that left Americans in enemy hands.
Valor also stars Charlie Barnett (Chicago Fire), W. Trè Davis (Shades of Blue), Corbin Reid (How to Get Away With Murder), Nigel Thatch (Selma) and Melissa Roxburgh (Star Trek Beyond).
Finally, we’re getting a Dynasty reboot. Yes, you heard that right. This new version is described as a racially diverse, modernized modernized reboot of the classic ’80s soap “that follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children,” as told “primarily through the perspectives of two women at odds: Blake’s (Grant Show) daughter Fallon Carrington (Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll‘s Elizabeth Gillies) and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal (Vampire Diaries‘ Nathalie Kelley), a Hispanic woman marrying into this WASP family and America’s most powerful class.”
The cast also includes James Mackay (The Leftovers), Alan Dale (The O.C.), Sam Adegoke (Murder in the First), Robert Christopher Riley (Hit the Floor), and Rafael de la Fuente (Empire).
